No, only joking. I think we all wish the stadium was more suited but it may get there one day.
A lot of my mates now saying 'Why didn't we do what Spurs did and develop at UP?" But could we have afforded to do that? Especially when there was such a gift horse staring right at us.

Funny as you should say that Sidey…. I was out with a bunch of them on Saturday (BBQ) and yesterday (25th Wedding anniversary)… yup they all renewed… and are still moaning like a good un’ about how shit it is over there… work that out?

I guess what I'm trying to say is that Arnautovic moving to West Ham can be considered a sideways step considering the current stature, but part of the reason for the move is that he could see that West Ham had more potential than Stoke to grow and to improve.

I don't think there is much difference with where Stoke are and where we are. Same goes for West Brom, Crystal Palace, Southampton etc.
As a football club right now we are doing no better than any of them.
The problem is we SHOULD be bigger and better than them. The reason we are not is because of poor management and ownership in the past.
All of those clubs have done well to get where they are and can be relatively pleased with their progress and yet we have, to date, failed quite spectacular in our attempts to reach the top 6/7 and bridge the gap between us and the top clubs.
We definitely have more potential to succeed than those around us we just don't seem to be able to progress.

I don't give a fuck what anyone says. West Ham are a bigger and much more attractive club than Stoke. End of.
There supporters know it. And the players know it. If we went to any of their players with a decent deal they'd be down here before Coates could hit his wife.

We are bigger than Stoke and will probably finish above them.
But the point the Stoke fans are making, as is Charlie Whelan, is that we are not part of the big six (Man U, City, Chelsea, Arse, L'pool, Tottenham).
That's why they classify it as 'sideways'. We have more cash than Stoke, Burnley etc but not enough to really accelerate away or breach the top six.

His money at £100k a week on 5 year terms is an appointment worth £25m to him - I would reckon that he may just see that as a form of 'promotion'.

Clear to see that he will next season, be a combination of both infuriating and sublime - we have had a few in our time and tend to like them

The above is a six minute montage of highlights from his performance at Upton Park a few years back. It contains confrontations with our players, two offside goals, numerous unfortunate decisions against us and an ending which given the events proceeding you almost want to celebrate for him. He gives it to the chicken run at the end. Looks like he needs to be wound up a bit.

To make a sideways step, you have to go to something level with your current position.
If Stoke were level with us, he wouldn't have left.
Piss poor club with piss poor footballing philosophies and a stadium that I would piss on if I ever had the unfortunate honour of going back there again.

We will finish well above Stoke.After my experience of being gobbed at with my then 11 year old son I hope they get relegated.
Thier only reason they have been in The Premiership for as long as they have is because they play dirty and get away with it.
To compare out club with them is nonsense.
